Way I
Which way to go?
You have many options before you, many roads to walk. Which one to take? How to prove the will of God? How do you know the way which will lead you to blessings, so that you may look back and say that God had blessed you?
Romans 12:1,2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The Bible provides the answer. We need
- Sacrifice
- Holy
- Acceptable
- Nonconformity
- Renewing
- Transformed
Lets look at them one by one
Sacrifice:
Sacrifice is the opposite of selfishness. You offer yourself without any thought of gain.
Holy:
Do not have sin in you. Anything not done in faith is sin (Romans 14:23), if you know to do good and you do not do it then it is sin (James 4:17). So in short it will be quite difficult to be sinless but try your best. Have a clean conscience and boldness to go to God. To remove the sin that so easily sticks to you wash it by acknowledging it and being aware of it (Psalms 51:3). Then repent (Acts 3:38, Acts 3:19) and do not repeat (John 8:11).
Acceptable:
You can be acceptable to God if you are good. Do good and be good. (Read the article about Cain and Abel in this website for clarification)
Nonconformity:
Do not conform to this world. Nobody should predict your actions like how they predict a worldly person’s actions. Your decisions should be heaven oriented, not oriented towards gains in this world. Your decisions should be Holy Spirit led. Jesus said that His Words are Spirit (John 6:63). Read the Word of God, let it guide you in making decisions. So you will not be conformed to this world.
Renewing:
Do not do anything because you have done it before or you are expected to do it. Renew your mind. Make decisions based on prayers and not on paradigms.
Transformed:
Let your thoughts, decisions, renewing of mind and everything said above transform your character and transform you. The transformation should be visible, to you first and then others.
