GLORY
Give Glory to God
GIVE GLORY to GOD
In the Bible we are instructed to glorify God .These are three words with much meaning.
Let us check out the meaning of each of these words.
1. GIVE:
We can only give what we have with us. We have our choices.
God asked Abraham to give Him his son Isaac. Abraham went to give God his son. but wait a minute. If God wanted Isaac, then He could have taken Isaac easily. Isaac could have choked on a morsel of food or killed by an animal or just not wake up from his sleep. Isaac was not in Abraham's control in the first place to give him. Abraham only had his choices to make. Abraham could give God his choices. He could choose God over himself, choose God over devil's temptations, over his laziness.
We can choose God. We can give God our choices each time we make one. Abraham choose to give god his son, he choose to walk to the mountain, he choose to sharpen his knife, he choose to tie his son, he choose to lift up the sword. We make our choices as per God's will every moment of our lives. (How do we know God's will? check out the article..comming soon)
2. GLORY:
Glorify means 'to esteem', 'to elevate', 'to magnify', 'to bestow honour'. 'to praise', 'to value', etc.
We glorify God when we give Him more value than other things. Each and every day of our life we can give more value to God than to our circumstances. We make decisions on what we see, hear, touch, taste, smell and feel. Moses knew that it was not logical to ask the Pharoah to release the Israelites. He knew that if he asks the Pharaoh will not grant his request. He also knew that he could not face the Egyptian army in a battle. Yet he glorified God by believing on God's words even though the circumstances were not favourable.
We can give glory to God by choosing to believe what God tells and disbelieving what anyone (prophets, doctors, bank account, abilities or our qualities) tell us which are against God's words.
3. GOD:
The word Elohim means 'rulers', 'judges', etc. (remember Moses was made a god unto the Pharoah in Exodus 7:1)
Who is your God? is it YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
The one who rules over you is your god. In Romans 6:16 it is written "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"
Many people have their bellies as their god, many have devils as their god, many have their carnal nature as their god. It is time to yield ourselves to God Almighty. We need to pray and read the Bible to know His will and then obey Him in faith on His words.
So
Choose your God,
Choose to value Him,
Choose to do His Will.
